The Knights have a convincing 3-1 series lead over the Sharks, and can end the series on Thursday night in Game 5. Vegas is led by their second line of Mark Stone, Paul Stasny, and Max Pacioretty, who have combined for 28 points in four games and are the top three goal scorers in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Along with all of their forwards producing, their defense has also been creating danger, combining for 12 points and shutting down San Jose almost entirely all series long. Marc-Andre Fleury has been exceptional in net as well, and will look to lead the Knights to the second round with a victory Thursday.
The San Jose Sharks won the first game of their series, but since then, they haven't been able to out scored the high powered Knights. In Game 1, the Sharks put up five goals to beat the Knights, they have a combined six in the past three games, with three losses. They will need their offense to wake up and for their defense to shut down Vegas' top scoring line. It’s do-or-die time for the Sharks, who have lost three consecutive games to Vegas and are on the verge of being eliminated in the postseason by the Golden Knights for the second straight season.
San Jose couldn’t stop Vegas from jumping out to an early lead again in Game 4 as Max Pacioretty’s goal 1 1/2 minutes into the contest was the 10th time in 18 games the Sharks allowed Vegas to score in the opening five minutes.
After opening the series with an impressive 5-2 win at SAP Center, the Sharks have never again held a lead against the Golden Knights in this series.

Goalie Martin Jones, who has been pulled in two of the Sharks’ three losses, obviously needs to perform much better Thursday, but since Vegas’ Marc-Andre Fleury didn’t allow a goal Tuesday, Jones needed to be perfect.
